Permission to Repeat
How loving fashion doesn’t have to mean needing more (and why uniforms might be the chicest move you can make).
There is so much incredible fashion out in the world right now.
NYFW has taken over my feed, and my brain is basically a rolling slideshow of textures, silhouettes, and pieces I’ve already mentally styled one hundred different ways.
I love it. I indulge in it. I mood board it. I screenshot it at 11:42pm like it’s my job (because…it kind of is). I am so here for it all.
Fashion is art. It’s such a unique form of storytelling. It gives us new ways to see ourselves. It’s something that personally inspires me SO much — the creativity and artistry always knock me back a bit, in the best way.
And also? You can be insanely chic wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Maybe especially then.
Everyday style is where fashion actually lives. Runway inspires. Uniforms sustain.
Most of us are not getting dressed for front rows and after parties. We’re getting dressed for school drop-off, work, meetings, grocery runs, dinners, and if the babysitter’s free, the occasional night out.
And white tee + jeans has survived every era for a reason. It’s considered. It’s restrained in a way that oozes confidence.
Loving fashion, appreciating design, saving things to a wish list is something I am all for — while simultaneously being completely content getting dressed in the same pieces you’ve always loved.
There is something very cool about not needing more.
If you’re standing in front of your closet wondering if you need more — you might not. You might just need your version of the perfect tee. And your version of the perfect jean.
And permission to repeat it.
xx
